Where this rule applies

This water is not yet drawn on the map. Its rules are captured and receipted; the geometry ledger records exactly why it is not drawn (an ambiguous name match or a gap in the source data), and it will never ship as a guess. Each rule above describes in the state's own words where it applies, and those written descriptions are the authoritative boundaries.

You also need (Wyoming)

  • Who needs a fishing license. Wyoming requires a fishing license for residents and nonresidents alike once you are 14 years of age or older. The exceptions are waters governed by fishing preserve permits, special limited fishing permits, or landowner fishing regulations.
  • Free Fishing Day. Wyoming holds a Free Fishing Day on which you can fish without a license, though every other rule still applies: fishing regulations, creel limits, gear restrictions, and stream closures. The 2026 date was June 6.
